Horse Training:

23 years professional experience training horses. Work with both the student and their horse in a train the trainer set up. In this way the student learns first hand how to overcome any issues they may encounter and are better suited to deal with future issues and or tune ups their horse may need. All horses coming on the property must have a current negative coggins.

Lessons are tailored to needs including: ground work, lunging, driving, under saddle, lead changes, neck reining, western trail riding, roping (heading or heeling), barrel racing.

Cost is $60 per hour.

Bob is shown working with a 2 year old Half-Arabian Half-American Paint Horse filly.
This filly had no prior training wearing a bit or riding under saddle. Bob started her in the round pen and arena in the first couple of sessions than proceeded to outdoor work under saddle. The work sessions were of short duration and were limited to walk and trot only due to the filly's young age. . She was trained wearing a simple snaffle bit and at no time was a tie down used. The video was taken through out about 20 work sessions. This filly is now ready to do some easy enjoyable rides out on the trails.

Bob is shown working with a 2 year old filly that is being started under saddle and at the same time is being prepared for roping work; a mature mare that has had basic training under saddle and is shown after 5 sessions of roping training for heading and heeling ; as well as Bob's finished roping horse.

Bob is shown above working with a 2 year old Arabian filly. She is being started with ground work using the driving lines in order for her to become accustomed to the feel of a girth; rein cues similar to what she will feel when she is started under saddle; as well as being exposed to the natural trail environment she will be ridden in. This creates a solid foundation of skills for a young horse before they are even saddled and provides an education which cannot be learned doing continuous circles in a round pen or arena over and over which can result in a ring sour horse or a horse that can only be ridden in an arena but is spooky out on the trail. It provides the best trail training start for a young horse.

The mare shown below had basic training under saddle and is shown with 5 days of Roping Training.
