Roping Lessons:

Roping lessons. Basic rope swing instruction. Positioning of horse to steer

Ground roping dummies as well as life size dummies for roping horse back.

Large tracking arena with return chute, cattle working chute and good live tracking steers. Rope horse instruction.

Teach both heading and heeling. Riders must weigh less than 230 lbs.

Students can either bring their own horse or use one of mine.

Private roping lessons are $55/hour. Group lessons are $45/hour.

Training the Rider for Heading and Heeling-
Students start by learning to ground rope dummies for heading and heeling.

They then progress to life size dummies on horseback.

The last stage is roping a live steer from horseback.

 
Training the Horse for Heading and Heeling-
Bob is shown working with:
A 2 year old filly that is being started under saddle and at the same time is being prepared for roping work;

A mature mare that has had basic training under saddle and is shown after 5 sessions of roping training for heading and heeling;

as well as Bob's finished roping horse.
